I’m PhD candidate in philosophy at the University of St Andrews and at the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation at the University of Amsterdam. My supervisors are Derek Ball, Luca Incurvati and Greg Restall. My PhD is generously funded by The Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland and The Royal Institute of Philosophy.
I mainly work on topics in the philosophy of logic and the philosophy of language. I also have interests in the philosophy of mathematics, metaphysics and epistemology.
Previously, I completed a MSc in Logic from the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation and a MA (Scottish BA) in Philosophy and Mathematics from the University of Glasgow.

Research
My PhD thesis is on logical pluralism and how to best articulate this position.
I argue that the debate between logical pluralists and monists often conflates distinct questions: a linguistic question about whether 'valid' and its ordinary-language counterparts have one or multiple meanings, a conceptual question about whether there is a single concept of validity or several, and a metaphysical question about whether there is one property of validity or many. By disentangling these questions, my research aims to clarify the different forms that logical pluralism can take and, ultimately, what logical pluralists ought to be pluralists about. The project also explores the implications of different forms of logical pluralism for debates about logical disagreement and the normativity of logic.
